I love Lupita Nyongo’s Brother
because he literally did
exactly what we would do
if we went to the Oscars
except he did it 220022932 times better.
So I thought I would just have a casual Wednesday night at home. Turn on ABC2 and there’s a BBC documentary, India: A Dangerous Place To Be a Woman. I have now watched it three times and took screenshots of some of the most barbaric crimes against women in India, that used to be ignored and buried. The documentary shows a rise in protest against the extreme sexual violence especially after the “Delhi Rape” in 2012 (I literally had to stop the video and go lean over the toilet for a bit, I was going to be the sick when I heard what that girl went through).
The documentary has an British-Indian girl Radha Bedhi travels to India and talks to many different women and men, to try and find out why the belief of the inferiority of women is so entrenched in the culture and what causes men to do such savage acts.
The first girl’s name is Tuba and she was attacked by a group of boys, who threw acid over her when she refused his advances.
The second is her cousin’s new wife from an arranged marriage who has given birth to a son, a second child after her daughter. Eunuch’s dance when a boy is born, but not for a girl.
The third is from an all girl’s orphanage, where many young girls are abandoned days after birth because of their gender.
The final picture is men and women of India joining together to mourn the victim of the Delhi Rape and are asking for the men who participated to be hung or castrated or have the same done to them as they did the poor girl.
Can’t say I disagree with them.
I really recommend this documentary. We might have big problems about feminism in the Western world, but the stories of these brave women will show what we should really be fighting for. A global acceptance of men and women as equal, and an acknowledgement that we are there for our brothers and sisters from any walk of life.

Why does toilet paper NEED a commercial? Who is not buying toilet paper?
Just a pool, disguised as a pond, with a trampoline instead of a diving board.
I wrote a paper about these kinds of pools several years ago for a class when they were just prototypes. These pools have a natural filtration system that run based on the plants that are in the pool that give the water nutrients that allow it to not only be crystal clear, but you are also able to drink the water because it becomes so clean. And the best part is that once the initial filtration system is installed and calibrated, it maintains itself and eliminates the need for chlorine or constant maintenance like salt water pools.
